Mercy Hospital for Women

Mercy Hospital for Women plays an important role in the teaching and research of women’s health, childbirth and infant health. The hospital specialises in these fields, whilst also providing services in gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, neonatology and obstetrics.

Dr Andrew Watkins

Dr Andrew Wattkins is a Neonatologist with particular interests in intensive care, bioethics, the psychology of intensive care and neurodevelomental follow up.

  Heather Woods A nurse with over 30 years experience having worked in the Developmental Paediatric Follow Up area for more than 15 years.
Mother of two teenage boys, one of whom has special needs. Extremely interested in aspects of early assessment, recognition of problems [if any] and intervention needs within the school environment.

Consultant Neonatologist with interest in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.   Dr Kerryn Saunders Special interest in language, behaviour, learning and hearing loss disorders.

Background research into infant hearing screening, genetics of hearing loss and children born from assisted conception.

Mrs Elaine Kelly
Elaine Kelly is a psychologist who works closely with the children of the VICS program. Elaine is a Psychologist and Speech Pathologist with a particular interest in early language development and conductive hearing disorders.   Dr Gillian Opie FRACP, IBCLC Especially interested in neurodevelopmental outcomes with respect to early nutritional influences.

Amanda Williamson Amanda is a Psychologist who is interested in all aspects of child development. She works at the Mercy Hospital for Women and is a Counsellor at a Melbourne secondary college. She has previously completed research studies examining factors that contribute to maternal separation anxiety and childrens friendship quality.
